Free NFL squares board — claim a square, catch a quarter

The office-party classic on any NFL game, not just the Super Bowl. Claim squares on a 10x10 grid, numbers get drawn at kickoff, and matching the last digit of each team's score at the end of a quarter wins that quarter. No signups, no money handled — just a link and a grid.

How Squares works

  1. 01

Pick Squares and choose the game your board is for. You get a commissioner link — keep that one.

  2. 02

Share the plain link with your group. Friends join by typing a name, then tap open squares to claim them.

  3. 03

Claim as many squares as you want (unless the commissioner sets a per-person cap) — tap to select several, then confirm the batch in one step.

  4. 04

At kickoff, the row and column digits 0-9 get shuffled and locked in — yours if you set it up ahead of time, or automatically if you forget.

  5. 05

After each quarter ends, whoever holds the square matching the last digit of the home score (row) and away score (column) wins that quarter.

  6. 06

Check the board anytime — claimed squares, digits, and quarter winners all live on the same link.

Commissioner settings

Your pool, your rules.

Sensible defaults out of the box, with the settings commissioners actually use. Change any of it mid-season — Comped re-scores instantly.

  • Cap how many squares any one person can claim.
  • Freeze the board to pause claiming and releasing at any point before digits are assigned.
  • Assign the digits yourself whenever you're ready — it locks the board the moment you do.

Common questions

How does scoring work?

HOME is the rows and AWAY is the columns. Once digits are assigned, each quarter that finishes gets a winner: the square whose row digit matches the last digit of the home team's total score so far, and whose column digit matches the last digit of the away team's total score so far. Q1, halftime, Q3, and final are each their own winner; overtime, if it happens, just extends the final score rather than adding a fifth prize.

When do the numbers get assigned?

Whenever the commissioner presses Assign Numbers, or automatically at kickoff if nobody has — a board can't kick off without digits. Once they're assigned, claiming and releasing both close for good.

Can I claim more than one square?

Yes, as many open squares as you want in one batch — unless the commissioner has set a per-person limit, in which case you can claim up to that many.

Can I undo a claim?

Yes, any time before the numbers are assigned — tap your own square and release it. Once digits are assigned the board is locked and claims are final.

What if two people tap the same square at once?

Whoever's claim reaches the server first gets it; the other person's request for that one square is declined but the rest of their batch still goes through — you'll see a plain note if any of your picks lost that race.

Do my friends need to create an account?

No. Joining and claiming squares only needs a name.

Does the pool handle money?

No, never. We just run the board and call the quarter winners — your group settles any stakes privately.

What if I lose my link?

Sign in with the email you used and your pools and entries come back automatically. Without an email on file, the link itself is the only way back in, so hang onto it.
