The games / Custom Questions
Make your own prediction pool — any questions you want
Write your own questions, friends pick their answers, and you settle the results by hand. Not just football — award shows, elections, the group chat's running debates, anything with an answer eventually.
How Custom Questions works
- 01
Pick Custom Questions and name your pool. You get a commissioner link — keep that one.
- 02
Write your own questions and the answer choices for each one.
- 03
Share the plain link with your group. Friends join with just a name and pick their answers.
- 04
Picks stay sealed until you lock a question, then everyone's answers reveal at once.
- 05
Once you know the real answer, resolve the question yourself — or void it if it never really got answered.
This week
Not just football
Award shows, elections, season-long props, group-chat inside jokes — anything with an answer works: Who wins Album of the Year, Which candidate takes the county, Will the finale reveal the killer, Total episodes until a proposal, Who breaks first in the group chat.
Commissioner settings
Your pool, your rules.
Run Custom Questions the way your group already plays it. You set the rules once — Comped takes care of them every week.
- Write as many or as few questions as you want, and lock each one on its own schedule.
- Void a question instead of resolving it if it turns out to be unanswerable — nobody scores it either way.
Common questions
How does scoring work?
You, the commissioner, write the questions and the possible answers. Once a question locks, nobody can change their pick. You decide the real answer and resolve it yourself — everyone who picked it gets the point. If a question turns out unanswerable, you can void it instead, and it scores nobody.
Is there a player limit?
No — pools of any size. Comped never flips a pool to paid at an entry count, and it never will be "free up to N players."
How do people join?
They tap your link and type a name. That's the whole signup — no account, no app, no invite codes.
Do my friends need to create an account?
No. Joining and answering only needs a name.
Does the pool handle money?
No, never. We just track picks and let you resolve the results — your group settles any stakes privately.
What if I lose my link?
Sign in with the email you used and your pools and entries come back automatically. Without an email on file, the link itself is the only way back in, so hang onto it.
Who decides the right answer?
You do, as commissioner — using your own admin link, not a site-wide referee. That's the whole point: you already know the answer to your own questions.
Can picks be changed after a question locks?
No. Every save gets a fingerprint you can post in your group chat before a question locks — after that, anyone can check the revealed answers against it, so an answer changed after the fact — by anyone, us included — shows up as a mismatch. The receipt log itself can't be edited, only appended — that's enforced in the database, not just by policy.
Can anyone see my answers before a question locks?
No. Every answer is sealed until its question locks — the commissioner can't see it, and neither can we through any public page. What you get right away is a receipt: each save records a fingerprint of your answers and hands you a short code (XXXXX-XXXXX) to post in the group chat. Once every question you answered has locked, anyone can check that the answers showing are the ones that code fingerprinted.
The commissioner writes the questions; the receipts are still public — see how answers are verified.
