The short, honest version
Last updated July 24, 2026. This is a plain summary of how Comped works, not a substitute for legal advice — if you need that, talk to a lawyer.
It’s free
Comped is free to use. There’s no subscription, no paywall, and nothing to buy to create or join a pool.
We never touch money
Comped doesn’t process payments, hold a pot, or take a cut of anything. We only run the picks and the standings.
We don’t recommend using Comped to play for money. It’s built for bragging rights. If your group decides to put stakes on it anyway, that arrangement is entirely between you and your friends: we aren’t a party to it, we won’t settle it, and we take no responsibility for how it turns out — including if this site goes down, shows a wrong score, or loses a pick at the worst possible moment. You’re also responsible for knowing whether what you’re doing is legal where you live. Comped is intended for players 18 and up.
Commissioners run their own pool
Whoever creates a pool controls it — settings, results, and who’s in it. We don’t referee disputes inside a pool; that’s on the commissioner and their group.
We can remove abusive content
If a pool, name, or piece of content is abusive, illegal, or otherwise harmful, we can remove or disable it without notice.
No warranty, and things may change
Comped is provided as-is, with no guarantee that it’s always available, error-free, or perfectly scored. Real things that can go wrong: the site can be down when picks are due, a schedule or score feed can be late or wrong, a line can move after you print a sheet, a pick can fail to save, and a commissioner link can be lost. We do our best on all of it and we’d genuinely like to hear about it when it breaks — but we’re not liable for any loss that follows, so please don’t treat Comped as the system of record for anything that matters financially. We may also change, add to, or shut down features as the product evolves.
