How to play NFL Pick'em
NFL Pick'em is simple: pick which team will win each game. For a basic weekly pool:
- Join a pool using the link from your commissioner.
- Pick the winner of every NFL game that week.
- Submit your picks before they lock.
- Earn one point for each correct pick.
- Comped keeps score and updates the standings.
- The player with the most correct picks wins the week.
Your pool can also use point spreads, confidence points, or different scoring rules.
Straight up or against the spread
Straight up: Pick which team you think will win the game.
Against the spread: Pick which team you think will cover the point spread.
Your commissioner chooses which format your pool uses.
Example
The Cowboys play the Eagles. You pick the Eagles. If the Eagles win and your pool uses straight-up scoring, you get a point. If they lose, you don't.

Common questions
How does scoring work?
In a standard Pick'em pool, each correct pick earns one point, and the player with the most correct picks finishes on top. Your commissioner can also turn on confidence points or against-the-spread scoring.
Can anyone see my picks before kickoff?
No. Picks stay private until they lock — every pick is sealed until its game starts, and other players can't see it. When you save, you get a short receipt code (XXXXX-XXXXX) to post in the group chat; once picks lock, anyone can check that yours match it.

Is there a player limit?
No. Run a pool with a few friends or hundreds of players.

How do people join?
Share your pool link. Players enter their name and start making picks. No account required.
Does the pool continue through the playoffs?
Yes. The playoffs are the next weeks on the schedule and score like any other week. Your commissioner can end the season whenever your group is done.
Do my friends need an account?
No. Players join with your link, enter their name, and make their picks.
Does Comped handle fees or prizes?
No. Comped handles the pool itself: picks, deadlines, scoring, and standings. Anything outside the pool is handled separately by your group.
What if I lose my link?
Sign in with the email you used and your pools come back on any device. If you never added an email, the link itself is the only way in — search your messages for it, or contact us and we'll help.
Can picks be changed after kickoff?
No. Once a pick locks, it can't be changed. Before then, players can change their picks as often as they want. Every save is recorded in an append-only log, so a pick changed after the fact would show up as a mismatch.
Can I print a Pick'em sheet?
Yes. Comped has free printable NFL Pick'em sheets for every week of the season at comped.com/nfl/printable — no account needed.
Can I run my pool on paper?
Yes. Keep handing out the sheets and enter the picks yourself, even after kickoff. Comped grades the games and keeps the season standings.
