Common questions
How does scoring work?
You don't pick anything — your assigned team's own score each week is compared against the target (33 by default). By default a member wins the week only when their team's score lands exactly on the target; the commissioner can switch to closest-to-target scoring instead, where the member whose team came nearest wins every week (ties share it). Nobody hitting the exact target in a given week is normal, not a bug — that's what makes the rollover a jackpot.
Wait, an exact hit sounds rare. Is that the point?
Yes — in a smaller pool only a handful of teams are even in play a given week, so an exact hit on the target is genuinely rare, not weekly. That's by design: weeks with no winner roll the pot into the next one, so it grows until someone finally hits it. If you'd rather have a guaranteed winner every week, the commissioner can turn on closest-to-target scoring instead.
How do teams get assigned?
Randomly, one per member, and never the same team twice in one pool — the pool is capped at however many teams the series has (32 for a full NFL season) once every team is claimed.
What happens on a bye week?
It's just a bye — not a loss and not a zero. Your team simply didn't play, so that week doesn't count for or against you.
How do people join?
They tap your link and type a name. That's the whole signup — no account, no app, no invite codes.
Do my friends need to create an account?
No. Joining only needs a name — there's no picking to learn, either.
Does the pool handle money?
No, never. We just assign teams and track who hit the target — your group settles any stakes privately.
What if I lose my link?
Sign in with the email you used and your pools and entries come back automatically. Without an email on file, the link itself is the only way back in, so hang onto it.
