How Comped works
Everything you need to run a pool here, start to finish: how a pool gets made, how people join, when picks lock, and what to do when something goes sideways. Free, no account needed, and nothing on this page is a sales pitch.
Running a pool, start to finish
- 01
Pick a game and name your pool
Choose from the homepage or any game page. You get two links: a private commissioner link that runs the pool, and a plain share link for everyone else. Keep the commissioner one.
- 02
Share the plain link
Post it in your group chat or email it around. People join by typing a name. No account, no password, no app, and no invite codes to chase.
- 03
Everyone picks before the deadline
Each player gets their own private pick page. Picks stay sealed until they lock, so nobody, including you and us, can see them early.
- 04
Scores and standings update themselves
We read the live schedule and scores. Results, records, strikes and eliminations all recalculate as games go final. There is no spreadsheet to maintain.
- 05
Run the pool from the same link
Rename it, post house rules, add or remove players, enter a pick for someone who is stuck, close it to newcomers, or change the pick deadline. It is all on the commissioner link.
The games people run

Common questions
Is it really free?
Yes, all of it. Every game, any number of players, the whole season. There is no paid tier, no trial, and no point where a pool stops working until someone pays. We never take entry fees or hold prize money either, so if your group plays for something, you settle it between yourselves.
Do my friends need an account?
No. They tap your link, type a name, and they are in. An account is optional, and all it does is remember which pools are yours so you can find them again from a new phone.
I lost my pool link. How do I get back in?
If you signed in with an email when you made the pool, sign in with that same email and your pools and entries come back automatically. Without an email on file the link is the only way in, so save it somewhere. A commissioner can always resend a player their personal link from the Members tab.
When do picks lock?
That is the commissioner's choice. The default for most games is each game at its own kickoff. You can also lock the whole week at the first game, lock each day at that day's first game, or use the traditional Sunday 1:00 PM ET deadline. Survivor pools default to Sunday 1:00 PM ET. Change it any time under Settings, and a change never unlocks a pick that already locked.
Can anyone see my picks before they lock?
No. A pick is sealed until it locks, including from the commissioner and from us on any public page. When you save, you get a short receipt code to post in the chat. Once picks are revealed, anyone can check that what shows is what that code fingerprinted, so a pick changed after the fact would not match.
Someone joined with the wrong name, or twice. Can I fix it?
Yes. Open the Members tab on your commissioner link. You can rename an entry, remove one, or resend somebody their personal pick link if theirs stopped working.
Can I enter picks for someone who never gets around to it?
Yes. From the Members tab, open that player's sheet and make the pick for them. It is marked as commissioner entered, so the pool can see what happened.
Do I need an account to print a sheet?
No. Every printable sheet is free and open, with nothing to sign in for. Print a blank pick sheet for any week, a team's full schedule, the bye weeks, or the playoff bracket.
Does the pool keep going through the playoffs?
Yes. The playoffs are simply the next weeks on the schedule, and Wild Card through the Super Bowl scores like any other week.
How do I end the season?
Press Lock on your commissioner link. It closes the pool for everyone and makes every pick read only, so the final standings stay exactly as they finished.
Still stuck
If your question is not up there, send us a message and a person reads it. If you are checking whether a pick was changed after the fact, the receipt checker does that without an account, and your pools lists everything saved to your email.
