How Comped works
Everything you need to run a pool, from the first pick to the final score. Create a pool, share one link, and Comped handles the rest. No spreadsheets, and no accounts required for players.
Running a pool, start to finish

Pick a game and name your pool
Choose a game, give your pool a name, and you're ready to go. You'll get a private commissioner link to manage the pool and a separate link to share with players.

Share the player link
Send one link to everyone in your pool. Players join with a name and make their picks. No account, password, or invite code needed.

Everyone makes their picks
Players can make and change their picks until each game starts. Once a game kicks off, that pick locks.

Common questions
I can't get commissioner access, or my pool says it "lives in this browser"
Your commissioner link is the key to your pool, and it's saved in the browser where you created it. On a new phone or computer, sign in with the email you used and the pool comes back. If you never added an email, the link itself is the only way in — search your sent messages for it.
My sign-in link says it is expired or no good
No problem. Open the newest email from us and use the link there — older sign-in links stop working when a new one is sent. If the button doesn't work, use the plain address at the bottom of the email. Still stuck? Email us and we'll get you in.
How do I remove a player, or fix one who joined wrong?
Open the Members tab on your commissioner page. From there you can remove someone who joined by mistake, send a player a fresh link, or enter picks for them yourself. Removing an entry frees up the name, so they can join again cleanly.
How does a commissioner know which entry is mine?
Every player has a code, shown under your name on your own pick sheet. Your commissioner sees the same code beside your name on their Members tab, and nobody else can see it at all. When you come forward for a prize, read out your code and your commissioner can match it. It is only a way to say which entry is yours: it is not a password, and it opens nothing.
Can I give a survivor player another life?
Yes. Open the Members tab and use Give a life next to the player. The loss stays on the sheet, but it no longer ends their season. Press it again to take the life back.
Can I make picks for future weeks?
Yes. Every week is open until its own deadline, so you can pick next week, or the whole month, whenever you like. Picks stay editable until their game starts.
Who can join my pool, and when does that stop?
Anyone with your player link can join. You can close the pool to new players any time from Settings, and you can always add someone yourself from Members. Survivor pools close on their own once Week 1 is under way — somebody arriving in Week 6 hasn't survived five weeks.
How do I end the season?
Settings has End the season at the bottom. Nobody new can join and every pick goes read-only, so the final standings stay exactly as they finished. It's not permanent — the same button reopens the pool. For next season, start a new pool.
When do picks lock?
Each pick locks when its game starts. That's the default; commissioners can set an earlier deadline in Settings, like the whole week locking at the first kickoff or a Sunday 1:00 PM ET cutoff. Once a pick is locked, it can't be changed.
What happens if someone forgets to pick?
By default, a missed pick scores zero. If you'd rather the pool fill it in, turn on auto-pick in Settings: it picks the favourite or the home team (in survivor, the best team that player hasn't used yet), marks the pick so everyone can see it was filled, and only ever fills a game that hasn't started.
How do the lines work in an against-the-spread pool?
A new against-the-spread pool freezes the week's lines Thursday at noon Eastern, so everyone picks against the same numbers whenever they pick. Until then the lines can move, and every pick is graded on the frozen line. Commissioners can choose a different moment under Lines in Settings (Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning or the moment picks lock) or type in the exact lines your group agreed to. Pools created before September 30, 2026 stay on the moment picks lock unless the commissioner changes it.
I wanted a survivor pool, but it looks like pick'em
A pick'em sheet lists every game and asks for a winner in each; a survivor sheet asks for one team for the week. If yours lists every game, it was created as pick'em. A pool can't change games after it's created, so start a new one from the Survivor page and share that link instead.
Why does this week only show 16 games?
Sixteen is a full week: 32 teams, sixteen matchups. Each team plays 17 games because every team sits out one week on a bye, so from Week 5 on you'll usually see fewer than sixteen. If a game is postponed or moved, the schedule updates on its own.
The kickoff times look hours off
Kickoff times are shown in your device's time zone. If they look a few hours off, check your device's date, time, and time-zone settings. Printable sheets are different on purpose: you choose the zone before printing.
Is there a pool chat?
Yes. Every pool has one, and it opens over whatever you are looking at rather than taking you somewhere else: a button in the bottom corner on a computer, the Chat button in the bottom bar on a phone. Everyone in the pool can talk there, and the pool posts its own news in the same feed: who has their picks in for the week, who won it, who just joined. As commissioner you choose in Settings whether it carries chat and activity, chat only, activity only, or nothing at all, and whether everyone can post or only you. You can mute a player, remove any message, and pin one to the top.
Can one person have more than one entry?
Yes, unless the commissioner has turned on one entry per person in Settings. Each entry has its own picks and its own place in the standings.
Can I get the results into Excel?
Yes. Settings → Export has two CSVs — standings and week-by-week results — that open in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers. Right beside them are print-ready standings and results sheets, if paper is what you're after. Neither includes anyone's email.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every game, any number of players, the whole season. There are no paid plans, trials, or upgrades. We never take entry fees or hold prize money either, so anything your group plays for is settled between yourselves.
Do my friends need an account?
No. They open your link, type a name, and they're in. An account is optional — all it does is remember which pools are yours so you can find them from another device.
Do I need an account to print a sheet?
No. Every printable sheet is free and needs no sign-in: a blank pick sheet for any week, a team's full schedule, the bye weeks, or the playoff bracket.
Can I see what everyone else picked?
Yes — once picks lock. Before kickoff, everyone's picks stay private. The moment a game starts, the pool's picks for that game show up on the Results tab, along with how the pool split.
Can anyone see my picks before they lock?
Not the other players, and not anyone on a public page — a pick stays sealed until its game starts. The one exception is your commissioner, who can open your entry to enter picks on your behalf. When you save, you get a receipt code; once picks are revealed, anyone can check that what shows is exactly what you locked in.
