How NFL survivor works
Survivor pools are easy to learn but much harder to win. The goal isn't to score the most points—it's to outlast everyone else.
Here's how it works:
- Create a survivor pool and give it a name.
- Share the invite link with your group.
- Each player picks one team they think will win that week.
- Once that game's kickoff arrives, picks are locked.
- If your team wins, you advance to the next week.
- If your team loses, you're eliminated or receive a strike.
- You can't use that team again for the rest of the season.
The last player standing wins the pool.

Common questions
What happens if I pick the wrong team?
Picks can be swapped until the game locks on kickoff. If your team loses, you'll receive a strike. Once you've reached the strike limit set by your pool organizer, you're eliminated from the competition. For example, if your pool allows one strike, your second incorrect pick ends your season. If your pool allows two strikes, you'll stay alive until your third mistake. Even after you're eliminated, you can still follow the standings and see who's left standing.
Can I use the same team twice?
No. Once you've used a team, that team is unavailable for the rest of the season. For example, if you pick the Eagles in Week 1, you'll need to choose a different team every week after that. Planning ahead and saving strong teams for later in the season is one of the biggest challenges in survivor.
What happens if I forgot to pick a team?
If you don't submit a pick before kickoff, you'll receive a strike. Once you've exceeded the strike limit set by your pool organizer, you'll be eliminated. Because picks lock automatically at kickoff, it's always a good idea to make your selection early.
Do my friends need to create an account?
No. Your friends can join with just a name. There's no account to create, no password to remember, and no app to download. You just need to share your pool's private link, and everyone can start making picks in seconds.
Does Comped handle entry fees or prizes?
No. We only provide access to the tools to track picks, strikes, eliminations, and standings, but we never collect entry fees or distribute prize money. If your pool has a buy-in or prize, your group will handled that privately.
Can picks be changed after kickoff?
No. Every save gets a fingerprint you can post in your group chat before kickoff — after that, anyone can check your revealed pick against it, so nobody (including us) can quietly change what you picked.
